The Ryerson University DSQ parking garage is located at the north-west corner of Dundas Street and Victoria Street in Toronto and is accessed and egressed via grade level from Victoria Street.
The parking garage was originally constructed circa 1988. It consists of four parking levels; one on-grade level (P1 Level) and three above-grade suspended parking levels (P2, P3 and P4 levels). It was originally constructed as an open-air garage. In 2006, a commercial and retail development at 10 Dundas Street was constructed directly adjacent to the north, south and west garage elevations and directly overtop the P4 Level. Columns supporting the newer structure above penetrate through the parking slabs.
Engineering Link was commissioned to provide investigation services, design and tender services and contractor administration services for parking garage repairs. The work scope included expansion joint replacements, location concrete repairs, localized mastic traffic topping repairs, drain replacements and converting the P4 level thick-applied waterproofing system to a thin-applied waterproofing system.
