The new, 3-storey Toronto Police Services 41 Division Headquarters is located at 2222 Eglinton Avenue East. This facility will be 69,000 sf and will include office spaces, locker rooms, firearm storage, interview rooms, and a 250-vehicle underground parking garage.
This project consists of reinforced concrete construction from ground to footings and structural steel from the ground to the roof. The AV/Communication requirements for this high security facility will be equipped with emergency generators and designed for power redundancy. The SW quadrant of the headquarters will have a heavy green roof. Phase 2 of the North Roof will have a lighter green roof, in combination with photo voltaic (PV) panels.
This facility’s environmental building standard is LEED Silver and is a phased construction approach delivery.
The key to the success of the rebuilding of the Division 41 site is the phasing necessary to allow the current Policing Services to continue to be delivered to the community, while building a contemporary new facility.
