We have been the base building structural engineer for over 20 years at this arena. Our work has included loading reviews for new concert rigging, support for the new 80,000-pound new scoreboard in 2015, as well as numerous load checks for construction activities over the years. To date, we have provided structural engineering services for over 100 productions and live performances.
For the new scoreboard project our scope included reviewing the loading of the proposed scoreboard and new perimeter ring on the existing roof framing, as well as assessing the loading from new electronic signs at the front of various skybox seating levels. Our review process involved site visits to document the current locations of the existing scoreboard, perimeter ring, and hoisting locations/framing. We then completed the structural design for the new members required to support the hoisting of the new scoreboard at the designated locations. Structural engineering for the associated
work with the proposed reconfiguration of the North-East ground floor entrance and associated concourse levels,
including accessibility.
Contract Administration for the structural portion of the project included the review of structural shop drawings and construction review of the structure. Engineering Link was also tasked to update drawings to reflect the current building code that is being enforced to date.
