A & W Portfolio – Canadawide

Structural design and contract administration services for A&W restaurants across Canada, supporting both a
national prototype program and site-specific projects. Our work ranges from early one-off tenant upgrades and
equipment load checks to the current generation of standardized “left-hand,” “right-hand,” endcap, and FS2.0
A&W prototypes that can be efficiently rolled out on diverse sites and in multiple jurisdictions.

We develop and refine repeatable building prototypes, then adapt them to each location’s geotechnical
conditions, loading requirements, and local code constraints. Our scope includes foundation and superstructure
design for new pad buildings, structural coordination for canopies and awnings, load checks and reinforcement of
open-web steel joists for new RTUs, MUAs, and exhaust equipment, as well as structural review of A&W fit-outs
within larger multi-tenant buildings. We also support construction with site review, structural opinion letters, and
coordination with local engineers where required.

Select A&W projects include new prototype restaurants in Belleville (ON), Bathurst (NB), Halifax (NS), Grand
Prairie (AB), and along Highway 400 in Mohawk Territory, as well as renovation and equipment upgrade projects
in multiple Ontario locations such as Lawrence Avenue East, Dundas Street West, York Mills Road, Kitchener, and
Aylmer. Collectively, these projects showcase Engineering Link’s ability to deliver consistent, brand-aligned
structural solutions while remaining responsive to individual site constraints, schedules, and operational needs.
